Event industry professionals knew this before the pandemic, and now every bride and groom have learned new phrases like “Act of G-d” The contract is a mutual agreement and commitment between you and your wedding vendors to follow through and stay on track. See what’s negotiable, make sure you feel comfortable and definitely be clear about all possible situations.
3- Updates Update Updates
You know they mean well and are trying to help, you know they are excited for you and just want to be sure they aren’t missing anything. But those constant calls and messages from your guests can be stressful and annoying, not to mention time-consuming.
Set up a website, Whatsapp group or group email list and keep them informed and up to date of all the latest news, guidelines and how you plan to keep them safe and protected at your wedding. It lets them know you are on top of things and that their presence is important to you!
4- Less May Be More
Let’s just assume the guest count at 2021 weddings will be higher than 2020 but still lower than 2019. Aside from government guidelines, it’s important to consider what will make guests feel safe and comfortable, as we ease out of the panic of the pandemic.
5- Vendors Need to Know
Every potential change due to pandemic guidelines affect your vendors and they will want to know as early as possible. If you plan on seating fewer guests per table, you will have more tables, therefore will need more centrepieces and tablecloths therefore may affect the lighting plan, therefore the caterer may need more wait staff.
Being upfront and giving them as much information as possible will make their jobs easier and make your event more successful!
6- Covid Safety in the Budget
According to a new study, the average couple spends about $280 on COVID-related health and safety measures for their guests. To make your guests feel comfortable and to ensure that your wedding is safe, it’s a wise idea to take the recommended COVID safety precautions seriously and include the costs in the budget as a priority.
