The Bride, your girl, is marrying her love, her partner for life. She has been planning this day for months, if not longer, and she may have been dreaming of this for years – meaning, she has a particular image in mind for her wedding.
Brides have a lot on their plates. There’s a lot of juggling when it comes to planning a wedding, and not just the ceremony and party. So if she chooses you as a bridesmaid, it’s more than an honor; it’s a responsibility.
But don’t worry! We are here to give you the best advice, in order of importance – who are we kidding – they are ALL important, so get moving!

Bridesmaid Duties in Detail:
Your primary job is to be a CALMING influence. This one is huge and covers a lot of ground. If any issues arise that aren’t covered by the other rules, refer back to this one, or refer the bride to this list of tips on how to plan your wedding and lose the stress.

Attend dress fittings, if wanted and if needed. If not? Then be supportive by asking her about the dress fittings, and the progress of the dress, and remind her how she’s going to make the most beautiful bride. Are you not a big fan of your bridesmaid dress, or the color seems simply impossible? Then, take a deep, cleansing breath, and find your GRACE. Remember, not your circus, not your outfit, and not your choice.
Help get your friend INSPIRED! You know her best (more than the fiance, obviously), so hit up Pinterest and Insta and start creating that mood board!
5. Offer to be her contact person for the, florist, wedding planner, caterer; you name it. If they know you can help, they won’t bother the bride!
6. Volunteer to help with specific tasks, the keyword being specific. For example, “I’ll make sure to pick up the broken glass under the chuppah”, “I’ll bring you water bottles for the dance floor”, or be the one in charge of her makeup touch-up kit for when she needs it.

8. Bathroom duty! Those brides cannot pee by themselves, not with those dresses. The best bridesmaids are the ones who remind her to go, take her to go, unzip her, hold her dress up, and fix her when she’s done – just be sure that she does her do’s!
9. Feed your bride. The last thing we want is a bride who’s hangry, weak, dizzy, or worst case scenario, has a fainting spell. Energy bars, dried fruit or nuts, a healthy shake, some crackers, and plenty of liquids should be nearby at all times!
10. Dance, Drink, and don’t forget to enjoy!
Not all heroes wear capes, Some wear floor-length gowns and kitten heels- you got this!
